Grand-Prix Projectグランプリ企画
King of Handai

"King of Handai" is a grand-prix project held at Machikane Festival, the university festival of The University of Osaka. It is a new project that started from the 2024 Icho Festival, where visitors vote for the project they found "the most attractive!" The participating groups prepare creative projects aiming for this grand-prix, further enhancing the excitement of Machikane Festival.
- Visitors' award
- An award given to the project with the highest number of votes. Your vote decides the grand-prix!
- “Pick up” award
- A special award decided by the person who got the first prize in the lottery, asking them about "the project they thought was the best". It is an award that reflects the "hot voice" of visitors, separate from the popularity vote.
You can vote from the official website. Voting is only possible on the day of the project. Those who participate in the voting get a chance for the "lottery" to win luxurious prizes!
- Mid-term announcement
- Around noon on the second day, the top-ranked projects will be announced on the official website and social media!
- Final announcement
- We will hold an award ceremony on the stage "Kanade". In addition to prizes for the top-ranked groups, they will give comments in front of all visitors. Of course, the results will also be announced on official social media and the website!
Enjoy Machikane Festival even more! "King of Handai" is not just a popularity vote. Through voting and lottery, your opinions and experiences directly affect the results of Machikane Festival! Please find your favorite project and let's liven up the grand-prix together.

Stage Cheer up Campaign

This year, we will hold a new participatory project "Stage Cheer up Campaign" for stage performance groups!
Before, stage performers had few opportunities to receive feedback from visitors, but in this project, your support will be delivered directly to the stage groups. It is a participatory project to purely liven up the stage, not a grand-prix to decide the ranking.
- After watching the stage, make a support card at the reception.
- Stick a sticker with a cheering comment on the card.
- When you stick the created card on the bulletin board, it will gather many visitors' voices and become one big art piece (pixel art).
- The collected support cards will be posted together for each performing group.
This is a visitor-participatory art that will further liven up the stage with your words! What you enjoyed, what impressed you, what was interesting... Let's put your voice on a sticker and deliver it to the stage performers. The big pixel art made by everyone might become a new attraction of Machikane Festival!?
