The season of Machikane Festival has come. Machikane Festival is a traditional event of this university hosted and run by the students. Here I express my respect to the students' effort which has taken over this festival enthusiastically for long through 66th time.

The theme is "EXPOSION". This theme is full of energies which our hope and vitality for the future are explosively unleashed with diverse values and personalities as in response to the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025. I can feel the strong desire of the Festival Committee members who want to make a festival full of excitement like the Expo. And I believe it is also the wish for every student to create such a festival by their own.

The origin of this university, "Tekijuku", had an atmosphere where ambitious young people gathered and learned from each other while sometimes debated and sometimes encouraged each other. They gathered under their master, Koan Ogata, beyond their social status and backgrounds, and competed with each other. Eventually, they produced many talents who led the era of the Restoration.

In The University of Osaka nowadays, there are also enthusiastic students who believe in themselves and try to pioneer the future with their colleagues. The energy put into Machikane Festival overlaps with the ambition of the members of Tekijuku. With each person's beliefs intersecting and resonating, the wave of the new era is about to be born here and now.

Machikane Festival is the moment when these inner energies burst out all at once. Through Stage performances, food stalls, exhibitions and events, let's enjoy the boldness within yourself, connections with your friends, and encounters with the unknown You. That will surely move the hearts and evoke empathy.

I wish Machikane Festival will be an irreplaceable page of your youth. Above all, I hope you yourselves will enjoy this festival and fulfilling time from the bottom of your heart.

Thank you for accessing our official website of the 66th Machikane Festival. Machikane Festival is the biggest festival held in The University of Osaka. This festival is the place where more than 200 participating groups showcase the results of their daily activities in their own way. Please enjoy them.

This year, the main theme of Machikane Festival is "EXPOSION". This word is a coined word combining "EXPO" and "EXPLOSION", which attracted attention not only in Osaka but also in Japan and the world this year. When many clubs of our university perform while showing their own colors, I believe that your heart is moved and exploded with excitement and you will surely think "It was worth a visit".

Some of you may have visited the Expo. We have 100+ indoor pavilions and 50+ Food Stalls pavillions. Moreover, the outdoor pavilion has become more lively with the revival of the festival stalls event , and there are Stage Performances that change daily. We also have a rally projects, so please enjoy the rally while visiting the events.

In addition, to all participating groups and university staff, we would like to express our sincere gratitude for your support in the operation of the festival. I feel that we can hold such a large-scale festival because everyone is putting their energy into their daily activities. Please let your smiles "EXPOSION" and entertain the visitors.
